America’s New Racial Segregationists Are On The Left

By Kimberly Bloom Jackson

Some of the most bizarre and dysfunctional behavior in America these days takes place on college campuses. Last year student protesters on the University of California-Berkeley campus physically prevented white students from accessing their classes and the Student Union Building to study. Incredibly, protesters declared that UC-Berkeley was their University, even going as far as issuing a “notice of eviction” to white students before demanding that university officials create [safe] “spaces of color” for non-white students.

Safe spaces pop up on college campuses where a high number of students lack basic social skills to cope with diversity of viewpoints. But not all safe spaces are established for this reason. Recently, white students at Loyola University-Chicago were granted their very own “safe space” called Ramblers Analyzing Whiteness (RAW). In the past, anyone who simply expressed an interest in establishing a white group would be viciously attacked as a racist by the campus mob. So where’s the outrage at RAW?

Apparently, it meets the politically correct standards of what a white group should look like. RAW encourages white students to engage “in solidarity with others and their privilege” on “what it means to be white.” It also focuses discussions on their “anger and confusion about institutional racism” and “guilt and hope about internalized racism.” In other words, RAW is out to deconstruct the psychology of white people so whites can admit to each other how racist they really are. It’s just the latest gutter-think in college-sponsored identity politics (aka cultural Marxism) sweeping the nation, leaving the idea of higher education in ruins.

Democrats Have Rigged Elections For 150 Years!

By Kimberly Bloom Jackson

Come hook or crook, Democrats are desperately trying to set up for a big win on November 8. Like many people, I’m suspicious of them. They have a bigger reputation of committing voter fraud, intimidation, and even downright violence than any other political party in America. But did you know their desperate schemes date back to at least the 1860s? Unfortunately, this is another one of those history lessons most of us never learned in school. Today, anyone who dares to utter the words “rigged election,” is publicly attacked as “right-wing conspirators.” This is suppose to silence us from doing our civic duty of making sure our elections have integrity. Meanwhile, the real conspirators just keep on riggin’ full steam ahead.

Of Course, He Wants To Vote The Democratic Ticket

Today, we’re becoming more aware of some of the back room shenanigans that Democrats and their political operatives have been up to all along, thinking most Americans would never find out. Oops!

Mass Voter Fraud & Poll Manipulation
In a series of explosive videos, investigative journalist James O’Keefe and his undercover Project Veritas team take us behind-the-scenes of the Democratic Party’s vast secret network of nefarious dealings.

Remembering Our American Flag Day

By Kimberly Bloom Jackson

For more than a year after our founding fathers signed the Declaration of Independence, the newly formed United States still didn’t have an official flag.

Happy Flag Day!

Finally, on June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress passed a “Flag Resolution” that declared: “Resolved, That the flag of the [thirteen] United States be 13 stripes, alternate red and white: that the union be 13 stars, white in a blue field, representing a new constellation” (p. 464, Journals of the Continental Congress, Volume 8). This new flag became the first definitive national symbol of our country, representing the 13 former colonies––now the United States—Massachusetts, Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina, Rhode Island, Georgia, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maryland.

Although Congress gave some overall specifics on what the flag should look like, it left open details of its final design. Soon, someone took the initiative to make a flag with the stars arranged in a perfect circle, symbolizing the powerful unity between the new states. This is sometimes called the Betsy Ross flag because according to legend it was Ross who sewed the first flag—affectionately known as “stars and stripes”—for George Washington to use as a motivating symbol for American soldiers in the Revolutionary War.

The Secret Racist History of the Democratic Party

By Kimberly Bloom Jackson

Have you heard of Josiah Walls or Hiram Rhodes Revels?  How about Joseph Hayne Rainey?  If not, you’re not alone.  I taught history and I never knew half of our nation’s past until I began to re-educate myself by learning from original source materials, rather than modern textbooks written by progressive Democrats with an agenda.

First Black Congress print 1874

Interestingly, Democrats have long ago erased these historic figures from our textbooks, only to offer deceitful propaganda and economic enticements in an effort to convince people, especially black Americans, that it’s the Democrats rather than Republicans who are the true saviors of civil liberties.  Luckily, we can still venture back into America’s real historical record to find that facts are stubborn things.  Let’s take a closer look.

An 1872 print by Currier and Ives depicts the first seven black Americans elected to the U.S. Congress during the Reconstruction period of 1865 to 1877—and they’re all Republican!

From left to right:

  • Sen. Hiram Rhodes Revels, R-MS (1822-1901):  Already an ordained minister, Revels served as an army chaplain and was responsible for recruiting three additional regiments during the Civil War.  He was also elected to the Mississippi Senate in 1869 and the U.S. Senate in 1870, making him America’s first black senator.
  • Rep. Benjamin Turner, R-AL (1825-1894):  Within just five years, Turner went from slave to wealthy businessman.  He also became a delegate to the Alabama Republican State Convention of 1867 and a member of the Selma City Council in 1868.  In 1871, Turner was even elected to the U.S. Congress.

Call For Western Civilization Courses at Stanford Gets Backlash

By Chris Nuelle. This article was originally published at Campus Reform.

The Stanford Review’s petition to bring Western Civilization courses back to Stanford has been met with some backlash.

Socrates

Western Civilization courses have been absent from Stanford’s curriculum since the 1980’s when, according to a New York Times article, Rev. Jesse Jackson marched with students to remove the courses. Jackson, along with students, chanted “hey hey, ho ho, Western culture’s got to go.” Protesters complained that the Western culture course had “European-Western and male bias,” and “sexist and racist stereotypes.”

Seeing the importance of Western Civ courses, The Stanford Review released a manifesto and a petition to bring these courses back, arguing that “interrelated trends at Stanford, both recent and long-term, compel us to act now to reinstate a Western Civilization requirement.”

The manifesto that precedes the petition covers a multitude of ideas and puts the necessity for Western Civ course in context of the recent events at Yale and Mizzou, noting that “the West’s history of colonization and racial oppression is also essential to understanding why the events at Yale and Mizzou arose in the first place.

The Review’s manifesto acknowledges issues with Western civilization in general, noting that “Some students object that a singular focus on Western Civilization would glorify the blights of Western history like colonization and slavery. These blights are undeniable and cannot be neglected on a syllabus.

Are Segregated Dorms the New Bigoted Safe Spaces For Minorities?

By Kimberly Bloom Jackson

The University of Connecticut recently announced plans to build a racially segregated dorm for black male students. What’s next, separate water fountains?

UConn Segregated Dorm, ScHOLA2RS House

As someone who received a doctorate in anthropology from UConn, I certainly don’t relish in drawing attention to how race-conscious my old stomping grounds have become. Nevertheless, I shall call it as I see it.

For starters, the dorm couldn’t have a more obnoxious name. It’s called “ScHOLA2RS House,” which stands for Scholastic House of Leaders Who Are African American Researchers and Scholars. This seems a bit over the top given the name doesn’t quite fit the target residents who university officials think need all the help they can get just to feel successful, let alone like leaders.

“African American males graduate at a lower rate than their peers,” said Dr. Erik Hines, Professor of Educational Psychology and Faculty Director of the initiative. “So the University of Connecticut was forward-thinking in bringing a solution to the issue.” Solution? Perhaps, if your goal is to be a glorified babysitter.

Now if you’re scratching your head over the “foreword-thinking” thing, don’t worry. This is quintessential progressive propaganda. Still, the most important question remains: How will UConn’s segregated housing scheme actually benefit black male students who, after all, have to go out into the real world after graduation and live among a more diverse population?

Actress Kerry Washington’s ‘Fragile’ Personhood Hypocrisy

By Kimberly Bloom Jackson

Few things turn Americans off more than when a minority Hollywood elitist takes to the microphone and whines about how unfair and racist America is, especially after they just left their multi-million dollar home and were transported to the event in a luxurious limousine.

Actress Kerry Washington

Enter actress Kerry Washington, who plays Olivia Pope, one of the main characters on the ABC television drama Scandal. Recently, Washington was honored at an ACLU Southern California Bill of Rights Awards Dinner. But don’t let the “Bill of Rights” thing fool you. The beauty of this kind of propaganda is that it allows the Left to masquerade as the moral defenders of our liberty, while at the end of the day not really being interested in defending all individuals, or even all liberties.

Washington was introduced by MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry, whose opening remarks began with three words: “Black Lives Matter.” This set the tone for Washington’s big racist America speech complete with personal lamentations:

“The fact that my very personhood as an African-American, as a woman, as a granddaughter of immigrants, as a kid from the Bronx, the fact that my personhood is still so fragile in this country—that I feel how fragile my personhood is, that my daughter’s personhood, that the personhood of so many of my loved ones is still so fragile—it’s heartbreaking to me.”

This is, to put it bluntly, nauseating to the rest of us. For starters, Washington purports to see herself as a victim in a racist nation. This shouldn’t be completely surprising given how the racial grievance industry has been whipped up to a full froth, particularly in the media and across college campuses. As for Washington, she attended George Washington University.

Policing Culture at the University of Washington

By Kimberly Bloom Jackson

There’s a new wave of hard core political correctness sweeping college campuses. It’s called cultural appropriation. As explained by a University of Washington student, it’s when “you take something from a culture that isn’t yours and basically use it for your own purposes. A lot of times this involves a majority culture taking bits and pieces of a minority culture in a way that trivializes it, in away that misrepresents it and pulls it out of context, or in a way that stereotypes other people.”

Cultural Appropriation at UW

If this leaves you scratching your head, don’t worry. There’s a whole group of UW students who, having crowned themselves with a certain level of elitism, have put together a video instructing the rest of us Cro-Magnon types on how to avoid cultural appropriation. As one might expect, they make fools of themselves in the process.

Nevertheless, as you watch the video, you can almost imagine yourself in a museum walking from one “cultural exhibit” to another as you’re immediately hit with a sense of separatism and victimhood. Of course, it would have been more helpful had the students actually known something about culture before starting their little grievance project.

Still, as an anthropologist who escaped the grips of leftist academia before my own brain could turn to mush, I am somewhat sympathetic to those afflicted with critical thinking attrition, a common byproduct of today’s higher education. Perhaps these students deserve a refund.

It used to be that anyone could take a good Anthropology 101 class and get an honest lesson on cultural diffusion. This simply refers to the natural spreading of cultural traits, mainly through migration, trade, and war. Cultures adopt and tinker with traits that work for them and abandon those traits that don’t. It’s one of the key mechanisms of cultural change and advancement, and the primary reason isolated cultures tend to lag behind everyone else.

While it’s obvious the students never learned about cultural diffusion they do, however, seem to know plenty about cultural isolation. In case you haven’t noticed, college campuses are hotbeds of victim identities, where many students have aligned themselves with a special, separate culture of oppression. Victim cultures wear their victimhood as a badge of moral virtue. They see themselves as innocent and everyone else is out to get them.

Keeping Up With the Real Racists

By Kimberly Bloom Jackson

The definition of racist has changed so much it’s hard to keep up.

Remember the days when a racist was someone who believed in the innate superiority of one race over another? Tragically, this ideology provided the basis for racists to segregate, victimize, and deny the rights of others. Nevertheless, this is precisely what defined a real racist.

America isn’t perfect, but a lot has changed for the better. Just look at all those of color who want to come here and all the white America haters who won’t leave for what they think is better grazing. To me, this speaks volumes.

Still, progressive rabble-rousers must keep their investment in race current. In 1997, for example, UC Berkeley sponsored a conference, The Making and Unmaking of Whiteness, where activists “critically” examined whiteness. Within three days, they concluded that white people are the “passive inheritors of a system of privilege and wealth.” You know it by its more fashionable name white privilege.

Such sweeping Marxist pronouncements have helped real racists forge their own definition of racism, not as acts or attitudes committed by individuals, but a racism that permanently links all white people. And since no white person wants to be associated with racism, many whites today have enthusiastically embraced feigned diversity oriented reforms and policies just to disassociate themselves from any taint of historical racism. This is called white guilt and it’s the real racist’s secret weapon.

The New Totalitarians Are Here

By Tom Nichols. This article was originally posted at The Federalist. It gives clarity to what we’re witnessing in America.

Totalitarians want their rule, and their belief system, to be accepted and self-sustaining—even if it takes bludgeoning every last citizen who disagrees.

New Totalitarian Fist

There’s a basic difference in the traditions of political science between “authoritarians” and “totalitaritarians.” People throw both of these words around, but as is so often the case, they’re using words they may not always understand. They have real meaning, however, and the difference between them is important.

Simply put, authoritarians merely want obedience, while totalitarians, whose rule is rooted in an ideology, want obedience and conversion. Authoritarians are a dime a dozen; totalitarians are rare.  The authoritarians are the guys in charge who want to stay in charge, and don’t much care about you, or what you’re doing, so long as you stay out of their way. They are the jefe and his thugs in a brutal regime that want you to shut up, go to work, and look the other way when your loudmouthed neighbor gets his lights punched out by goons in black jackets. Live or die. It’s all the same to the regime.

Totalitarians are a different breed. These are the people who have a plan, who think they see the future more clearly than you or who are convinced they grasp reality in a way that you do not. They don’t serve themselves—or, they don’t serve themselves exclusively—they serve History, or The People, or The Idea, or some other ideological totem that justifies their actions.
